Barbara Buckley (née Gee), whose family had moved to Leamington Spa during the War, was recruited to work in the Photographic Section, processing and developing thousands of aerial colour plates. She still lives in Leamington Spa.

Barbara Buckley talks about working in the Photographic Section of the Unit.

The Rink and Spencers Yard was the centre for Factory Camouflage design and photography. The Rink was located on the site that is now occupied by the Loft Theatre, this large circular building, that before the War was a roller-skating rink, housed an enormous turntable.

The Unit created model factories, placing them on the turntable, with suns and moons attached to simulate varying weather and light conditions. This camouflage was then applied to real factories.

Kodak came over from North America to train the Unit in newly developed colour processing techniques, which included Kodachrome 16mm film.

The Photographic unit was based in the Rink. This montage was assembled and taken by the Head of the Unit, Barker-Mills. He is the man in the horn-rimmed glasses.
